Shipping history was made in Manistee, Michigan, on April 28, 2019, when Iver Bright, the first saltwater vessel to visit Manistee in 47 years, arrived off Manistee with a load of 6000 tons of asphalt flux from Sarnia, ON. She was built in 2012 in Ulsan, South Korea and is registered in Breskens, Netherlands. The ship is 366 ft. long and 60 ft. wide. Candace Elise, a tug boat from Muskegon, Michigan, met the Iver Bright a short distance from the Manistee Light where they turned into the channel to begin their journey on the Manistee River to Manistee Lake where the cargo was delivered.
