Sue has had a life-long passion for photography. Sue Smith Photography began in 2004 with a few photos and some note cards to match. Now Sue's photos are sold around the world through the various stock and fine art sites that she submits to. In 2010, Sue was honored to be chosen as a Montana "Treasured Artist" for the Office of the Secretary of State of the State of Montana in 2010. Montana's treasures - the back roads, small towns, ghost towns, and Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks call to her daily. Road trips are a passion of hers and fit beautifully with photography. Hanne Lore Koehler
What a great capture, Sue!!! Curious to know why the lock is on the outside! L/F
Sue Smith replied:
Thank you, Hanne!!! I suspect the lock is on the outside for a couple of reasons: 1) This is part of a state park and they lock buildings that are either not safe or have historic items in them. 2) They probably don't want people using it! ;-)
Eva Kaufman

Meg Shearer
It looks like it's in the middle of nowhere! Which makes the electricity even more interesting. But I guess they needed some creature comforts? Fascinating picture (what is it about outhouses, lol?) and wonderful shot! VF!!!
Sue Smith replied:
The outhouse is on the edge of a large ghost town that was founded in 1862. People still lived there in the 1950's so I'm sure many of the buildings had electricity, but seeing it on this outhouse just didn't seem right to me. I'll have to look more closely at my other photos from Bannack. I don't know why, but I really love outhouses and take a lot of pictures of them! :-) Thank you, Meg for your comments and support!!! I always appreciate your visits!
