White-tailed Ptarmigan (Lagopus leucurus) at Glacier National Park. I was one of the first to stop to photograph this ptarmigan in Glacier National Park. As I sat and snapped pictures, more and more people stopped to do the same. Eventually, I said "Thank you!" to the bird. Then I heard, "Thank you!", "Thank you!", "Thank you!" coming from all around me. Those other photographers decided to thank the ptarmigan, too. It still makes me smile when I think about it.
